 Often cited as the Scottish Impressionist, Melville is much more than this. An associate of the Glasgow Boys and a follower of Whistler, Melville occupied a unique position in late nineteenth century British Art. His reputation having suffered from an early death aged forty nine, Iain Gale demonstrates that there is much more this enthralling artist.
