Thoughts Under Eiseaval covers the vast bulk of the poetry of Domhnall Aonghais Bhain (Donald MacDonald), with its themes of love and nature. This collection reveals the range and quality of his verse and will result in a considerable increase in his stature. He was a much loved man in Uist and the number of those involved in this project bear witness to the affection in which he was held.
Ronald Black provides a full critical introduction and Henry Marsh a biographic piece. Alick O’Henley - Gaelic Officer for the Scottish Parliament - provides a Gaelic introduction. The poems are translated both by Ronald Black and by the poet himself.
